I love visiting the area around the old gold mining town of Hill End in New South Wales. I return time and again. The gold in the veins of quartz; the maize coloured grass, the beauty of the Australian rugged country, the ochre, gorges, jagged and craggy mountains. Layers of sediments. Irridescent gold automatic markings shimmer beneath the surface of the painting.
