Je Ne Regrette Rien

JE NE REGRETTE RIEN’ is from a series Candyss painted around the time of the birth of her son. The ebb and flow of life, the dance and passionate fire of falling in love and creating new life are all depicted in the the play of colour, movement and spontaneous approach that Candyss uses here. The materials are used in an abstract expressionist style and the use of ash, sand, and drizzled enamel paint all add to the painting’s gestural quality. The sparks of contrasting colours – purples and blues against the dominant reds and orange take the viewers eyes dancing around the canvas. There is irridescent pigments added to reflect the light and bounce it around the artwork.
