Dusty deserted arid outback roadside landscape with hidden gems that lie beneath…I love this quirky outback town of Coober Pedy. I often go this route to the Northern Territory. The land is barren, driving past salt lakes, grey and white sand, spinifex, and what lies beneath. It’s an area steeped in mystery. It’s a place of ironies. The expansive space above and the confined underground areas. “Close to Coober Pedy” is painted in Oil paint with iridian irridescent pigment mixed into the paint creating new colour possibilities.
