The Sea Snake (Paper Print)

“I have been a keen scuba diver for over 10 years and have really enjoyed painting the reefs in the UNDERCURRENT series. The amorphous shapes and fluid lines of the coral underwater, of the light through the ocean, and the bright colours of healthy coral, all inspired me to paint this body of work which was rather different for me. I love how the ocean currents create constant ebb and flow, the swirling fish, the moving coral tentacles in the ocean currents, bubbles from breathing underwater, and the shimmering movement of sea life. In this painting I seek to convey the innocent magic, energetic mood and inspirational spirit of the reef and of how alive and connected I feel when I’m diving. I hope we keep our amazing Australian reefs safe and protected and do all we can do to allow them to flourish.” ~ Candyss
