Deep Ocean Blues

Staring out to sea, beyond the shore waves, into the deep blue ocean, I wonder what’s under there, living in the deep shadows. The horizon only appears by a slight cloud line in the distance. I use palette knives and layer thick textural markings across the canvas to build up shadow and light, colours over colour and drip the oil paint oozing from the tube – it’s a visceral process.
