Stormy Curl Curl (Paper Print)

‘STORMY CURL CURL’ was painted just after Candyss returned back to the studio from a walk along the beach during a storm. North Curl Curl beach was very close to her warehouse art studio in Curl Curl where she painted each day. Candyss works with a limited palette and uses thick gestural brush strokes. The painting process is loose, intuitive and a response to memory and emotion. While painting Candyss meditates on the experience, mood and memory of being near the water at the Ocean’s edge during a wild winter storm.
