I’m so grateful for my career and having time to reflect in the Australian landscape. A sense of place comes to me after long periods of solitude, quietude and being in the landscape. Sitting absorbing and painting up the land. I choose to paint it as I see it – blurred atmospheric feelings, gestural automatic markings, imaginings of place, new created colours, thick texture, infinite horizons, and complete abstraction of the land. The iridescent quality is similar to the land glistening in the sun. We could all do with more time in the land enjoying its natural serenity.
