Grass Tress at Crescent

Having a holiday home at Crescent Head in the family made for lots of visits throughout the years. Surfing, walking the national parks in the area and strolling along the beaches. This particular day we had walked around Crescent head and the Arakoon National Park where there are so many grass trees growing through out the natural bushland. I returned to my Sydney art studio and painted this. Painting by memory of these trips – I remember the movement of the fine leaves blowing in the breeze, the shapes they create; using a fine drizzling of paint really allowed me to loosen the whole approach to the subject matter.
